COSTUMES

All students perform in our annual Dance Recital at Union City Performing Arts Center and each class has a unique performance along with a specific costume. Students who take multiple classes have a costume for each class.  Tights and socks are not included with the costumes.  It is imperative that you understand what tights and socks are required for the show.

Please use the following link which details the requirements for TIGHTS, SOCKS, SHOES, and HAIRSTYLE for every class.  Click here: Costume Requirements

Please ensure that your child adheres to each of the criteria.

Costume Tips:

 ·         Arrive Ready.  Your child should arrive at the theater no later than 45 minutes before the start of the show in their costume ready to go for their first number.

 ·         Costume Changes.  It is no longer your responsibility to change your dancer into their next costume! We will have staff on hand dedicated to changing dancers in multiple numbers into their next costume as soon as they leave the stage. Bring additional costumes in garment bags and make sure they are clearly labeled with your child’s FULL NAME and ROUTINE NAME.  Ensure that shoes, tights, and all accessories for that costume are packed in the correct garment bag.  All costumes must be on separate hangers in separate garment bags and individually labeled. If you would like, include lipstick in the bag and we will help reapply. If there are any questions or confusion, please confirm with Jennifer before the day of the show.

 ·         Label Everything.  Please make sure to have all costumes, shoes, hair/makeup, and accessories labeled and ready to go.  It is important to put your child’s name in each costume as well as their shoes.  Label and mark everything to avoid confusion.

 ·         Makeup and Hair.  We do not provide makeup for the dancers and we do not prepare their hair.  Please make sure all ballet dancers have a proper, secured bun as per the attached instructions.
