JZT Dress Code For 2023-2024 Fall Season
The Dance Store at JZT
We are an authorized Capezio Dancewear retailer. In past seasons, we carried a full line of Capezio shoes, tights, leotards, and other dancewear items below the cost of regular retail prices. We also featured other branded dancewear, including Bloch and Pastry. Capezio has struggled with production and distribution post-pandemic. Many products, including leotards and shoes, have been difficult to source. That being said, we have been forced to switch some of our required dancewear and shoes to Bloch.
Sizing of dance shoes is very complicated which makes ordering online very difficult and risky. At The Dance Store at JZT, you can be sure that you will receive the proper fitting of new shoes and dancewear.
You can shop our in-stock inventory of ballet slippers, leotards, tights, and other dancewear items. If your item is not in stock, we can usually have your order delivered to the studio within 48 hours.
Dress Code Details:
All students are required to wear the proper dancewear and dance shoes in accordance with our 2023-2024 Dress Code Policy. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE CHANGES TO THIS YEAR’S DRESS CODE!
All instructors will be strictly enforcing the dress code this season. Students not properly prepared for class may be asked to sit out and watch.
All hair must be in a BUN for classical ballet and combo ballet classes. Hair must be in a ponytail or a braid for ALL other classes. Click here for bun-making instructions!
No skirts are permitted for ballet or ballet combo classes!
No jewelry other than small earrings is permitted.
Street shoes, including sneakers, are NOT permitted on studio floors. Dancers must wear street shoes into the building and then change into dance shoes. Do not wear dance shoes outside the studio.
Jeans, jean shorts, play clothes, or school clothes are not suitable dance attire. Conversely, dancewear is not suitable for streetwear. Please wear cover-ups and street shoes to and from class.
No glitter on any clothing allowed!
Below are the specific Dress Code Requirements for each class. Please ensure that you do not confuse the 45-minute Combo Class requirements for the younger children with the hour-long class requirements for the older children. Click on the model number link for a picture of the item and pricing.

Shoes: Custom. Pointe Shoes should be professionally fitted to ensure that you work safely and have a solid foundation for your pointe technique.
We are scheduling Capezio to come to JZT Dance studio for an exclusive custom fitting for all of our Pointe students.

Acro – Girls (all ages)

Any solid color Camisole Leotard with Adjustable Straps (CC100), or any solid color Camisole Bra Top (TB102C). No t-shirts.
Boy-Cut Lowrise Dance Shorts (TB113), High Waisted Dance Shorts (TB131), or Active Legging High Waist (TB204C).
Tan or pink Footless, (1917), Convertible (1916) or Stirrup Dance Tights (1961). Feet must be exposed for acro! No exceptions.

Acro – Boys (all ages)
